SKOWHEGAN – Somerset Woods Trustees will hold its second annual barbecue
fundraiser on Wednesday, Aug. 22 at the rest area on Route 2, known as Kennebec
Banks, from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. The BBQ will be prepared by the Trustees
of Somerset Woods and include either a hamburger, chips and drink; or two
hotdogs, chips and drink. Tickets are $5 each.
The state of Maine is no longer maintaining the Route 2 picnic area, and
this fundraiser is to help raise funds for its continued maintenance.
