St. Albans special town meeting Aug. 27

  ST. ALBANS – Voters in St. Albans will meet Monday, Aug. 27 for a special town meeting to consider raising funds to repair the Indian Bridge on Ripley Road and replace or repair the retaining wall on the Upper Dam.
   Here is the published warrant.
   Greetings:
   In the name of the State of Maine you are hereby requested to notify and warn the voters of the Town of St. Albans in said County, qualified by law to vote in town affairs, to meet at the St. Albans Town Hall, in said Town on Monday, August 27, 2012, A.D. at 5:30 P.M. in the evening to act on the following articles, to wit:
Art. 1.  To elect a Moderator by written ballot to preside at said meeting.
Art. 2.  To see what sum the Town will vote to raise and/or appropriate for the balance of funds needed for the repair/replacement of the so called Indian Bridge #5527 located on the Ripley Road in St. Albans and further authorize the municipal officers to take any and all action and execute any and all contracts and documents necessary. (This article replaces Art. 34 voted on at the annual town meeting March 3, 2012 authorizing the borrowing of funds for this project).

Selectmen recommend an amount not to exceed $40,000 to be expended from Un-appropriated Surplus.

Budget Committee recommends an amount not to exceed $40,000 to be expended from Un-appropriated Surplus

Art. 3.   To see what sum the Town will vote to raise and/or appropriate for the repair/replacement of the retaining wall damaged on June 2, 2012 located at the Upper Dam off the Corinna Road.  (Concrete cap to be approximately 4’ x 40’x10” thick with #5 rebar 12” on center each way, pinned into existing granite structure) and further authorize the municipal officers to take any and all action and execute any and all contracts and documents necessary.
