During
the week of Sept. 10 – 14, Bangor Savings Bank will accept donations for the
Good Shepherd Food-Bank at all 56 branch locations. Each $1 donation provides
four meals for a Maine family facing hunger.
In
Maine, nearly 200,000 people – or 15 percent of households – do not have access
to enough food. One in four Maine children lack access to enough food to live a
healthy life. Hunger affects every community in Maine – urban or rural, rich or
poor, big or small.
Bangor Savings Bank is taking on this fundraising challenge with the
Good Shepherd Food-Bank as part of Hunger Action Month, an effort organized by
Feeding America. Hunger Action Month is a campaign to mobilize the public to
raise awareness and take action in support of hunger relief.
In the Sebasticook Valley – Somerset County region, Bangor Savings Bank
has branches in Dexter, Hartland, Madison, Pittsfield and Skowhegan.
