Ukulele artist Russ Copelin to perform at Maine Central Institute

PITTSFIELD – Russ Copelin, Alaska's only professional touring ukulele artist, will perform at Maine Central Institute on October 3, 2012 at 7:45 am in Parks Gym.  In addition, Copelin will be doing classroom workshops for MCI music students following the performance.
Copelin graduated from MCI in 2001 and attended the University of Maine at Farmington, graduating in 2005.  Copelin started his career in New England as a professional entertainer in 2005 and has been playing constantly since.
After three published albums with the Sween Machine record label, one independent release, and several tours back and forth across the continent with East coast bands, Copelin moved to the interior of sub-arctic Alaska.
He has played as far west as Hawaii and as far east as his roots in Maine and is constantly writing and adding new material to his ever expanding set list.
Copelin has had the pleasure of sharing the stage with many great musicians including, but not limited to; members of Blind Melon, Sweating Honey, Jim Austin, Merrill J. Miller, Hobo Jim, Dead Season, Gristlestick, The Good Daze, The Safety Lab, Billy Strain, The Dead Sexies, Jason Mancine, and many more.
This event is free and open to the public.  For more information, call 487-5915.
