Donn Fendler featured at June 8 Chamber event

PALMYRA – On June 8 at 6 p.m., the Sebasticook Valley Chamber, partnering with the Palmyra Golf Course and Campground, will be hosting Maine’s own Donn Fendler for an evening with the well-known outdoorsman at the golf course’s event center.
The event is sponsored by Bud’s Shop ‘n Save and the Law Office of Michael Wiers.

Donn will talk and narrate a video program about his experiences “Lost on a Mountain in Maine” back in 1939.  Donn is well-known in Maine and to many generations of Maine school children for his misadventures as a 12-year-old boy who got separated from his family and survived nine (9) days lost on Mt. Katahdin.
As a child, he was the subject of a book about his experience, “Lost on a Mountain in Maine.” Last year, a new graphic novel was released and videographers have followed his experience with plans to make a movie. He will be signing copies of the latest book following his talk on Friday night, June 8.
  Refreshments will be available.
